In the garden, Vincenzo Dascanio and his staff are hard at work. The scent of flowers is strong—it feels like we’re in the flower market in Paris, except the view is of the Grand Canal and Venetian architecture. Behind the scenes, dancers and the musical group from Nu’art are preparing to liven up the evenings ahead.
Photographer Anna arrives as well, and we begin focusing on some lovely details. P&P stands in large letters, adorned with thousands of white roses. The sky may be overcast, but tonight, in this Venetian corner, the gray is overshadowed by the vibrant colors of this “floral market” with an Italian flair. Guests enter dressed in floral attire, following the dress code. As they mingle during the aperitif, dancers make their entrance, and Mediterranean delights are savored. Phoebe and Peter arrive, with Phoebe wearing a yellow and white floral dress. The evening opens with glasses raised and dances starting, as the Norwegian step moves gracefully to the tune of “Tu vuoi far l’americano.”
Saturday morning brings rain, but as preparations begin, a ray of sunshine lifts everyone’s spirits. Vincenzo Dascanio’s team is decorating the main staircase with white roses that lead up to the hall of mirrors where the reception will take place. The setup is a masterpiece, seamlessly blending with the frescoes adorning the walls. Anna and I search for a corner to photograph the stationary, while she brings an elegant scarf for the perfect backdrop. We split up to capture the preparations on film.
Peter, looking elegant in a white suit, feels the excitement during the boat trip to the Anglican Church of Venice, where the ceremony will take place. The entrance to the church is marked by a grand arch of white roses—today’s floral centerpiece. The church is intimate and welcoming. As the guests take their seats, Peter sits beside his mother.
Phoebe walks down the aisle on her father’s arm. Her slender silhouette, wearing a long-train dress by Viktor & Rolf, glides slowly down the wedding carpet, surrounded by roses. Peter’s gaze lights up, his emotions are palpable. The ceremony is composed yet full of emotion, just like the entire event—sumptuous and intimate at the same time.
Before returning to the Aman, the couple stops for a few portraits at the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute and the beautiful Palladian Church of San Giorgio Maggiore. Meanwhile, Eleonora from Venice First greets the guests at the welcome cocktail.
When the couple arrives at the Aman, they are warmly welcomed. We head upstairs, where everything is ready for their entrance into the Hall of Mirrors, lavishly decorated with white orchids. A dancer from the Nu’art group, dressed as a living golden candelabrum, leads the way for the couple and their astonished guests, who are in awe of the stunning room. During dinner, the entertainment with dancers and speeches is particularly lively. The speeches humorously refer to the “modest” choices the couple made for the wedding location, which, by the way, happens to be where George Clooney himself married.
The spouses and their guests enjoy the night of dancing in the exotic pop room designed by Dascanio. On the following day, the couple bids farewell before heading to a lavish lunch at the Gritti Hotel.
The table setup for the lunch follows the theme of the previous evening, featuring lemons and aromatic plants. In the elegant spaces of the Gritti Hotel, we thank Phoebe and Peter for allowing us to be part of this important chapter in their lives, which was also featured in Vogue America.
